Tie-dye is back in fashion for blouses, sweatshirts, and t-shirts

Trends come and go; of that, we can be absolutely certain. From the most improbable to those we adopt and wear even after everyone else has stopped. Trends reflect specific behaviors of a period and can represent a part of who we are, what we think, and, obviously, what we wear.

When a relevant (or not) cultural scenario is established, fashion generally translates this into clothing and accessories. With tie-dye, it was no different; after all, today we can observe countless brands being inspired by this trend.

So... What is the origin of tie-dye?

Tie-dye around the world and through time

In fact, this is a centuries-old practice of dyeing fibers and weaves that emerged years ago in Asian countries. But, it became widely known in the mid-60s and 70s with the height of the hippie movement, the Woodstock festival, and all the psychedelia that orbited the era. The technique, easy to perform at home (in its most basic proposals), consists of applying ink, dye, and color fixatives to the garment, tied with strings or pieces of twine.

The origin of the term "tie-dye" means "to tie and dye."

Bring tie-dye to your wardrobe

Currently, tie-dye encompasses various styles and can be used in different ways, depending on the daring of the wearer. Since tie-dye pieces usually have combined colors, they can be accompanied by more clean, minimalist, plain, or more discreet pieces so that the tie-dye shirt, pants, or sweatshirt stands out in the look. However, there are those who dare to opt for the entire tie-dye combo and pattern combinations; in this way, it is nice when the colors complement each other and the patterns harmonize.

The variations are countless, and KACE has a selection of tie-dye shirts, t-shirts, tank tops, pants, sweatshirts, and other amazing tie-dye items for you to always create your look with style. Of course, the brand focuses on developing pieces that usually cannot be made at home, as they require more technical knowledge and appropriate machinery.
